Panasonic Thailand Announces Immediate Sponsorship of Chonburi F.C. Starting from Final Bend of Thai League

On the afternoon of April 5th, 2023, at the press conference room in Chonburi UTA Stadium, Panasonic Group in Thailand has announced its sponsorship of "The Sharks," Chonburi F.C.– the top F.C. from Thailand's eastern province. This sponsorship is effective immediately for the final bend of the Revo Thai League Football Season 2022/23. Furthermore, the group has expressed its commitment to supporting the club in all aspects throughout the 2023/24 season.

The sponsorship agreement signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Hidekazu Ito, CEO of Panasonic Group in Thailand, and executives from Chonburi F.C., including Mr. Vitaya Khunplome, Chairman, Mr. Witthaya Laohakul, Technical Director, and Mr. Jeerasak Chomthong, Media and Marketing Director. Additionally, key players from The Sharks and press members were also present to witness the signing.

Mr. Hidekazu Ito, CEO of Panasonic Group in Thailand, said, "Throughout the 60 years of operation in Thailand, Panasonic Group has always felt that Thailand is a second home. As such, the group has always given importance to participating in Thai society and carrying out activities to give back to the community. And we strongly believe that sponsoring Chonburi F.C. will greatly contribute to communities through the promotion of sports.

The Panasonic Group in Thailand will now be one of the official sponsors of Chonburi F.C., which is well recognized among the leading clubs in the Thai Premier League. This sponsorship is fully supported by all of 15 Panasonic Group companies in Thailand and represents our Group’s solid intention to support professional sports in Thailand. Our support for the club will begin from the final stretch of the Revo Thai League 2022/23 season and continue throughout the 2023/24 season.

The key person who is an important link in this cooperation is "Coach Heng" or Mr. Witthaya Laohakul, Technical Director of Chonburi F.C.. Mr. Witthaya was formerly a football player and a head coach at the Panasonic Club. At that time, he was the first football player from Southeast Asia to has joined football League in Japan. In February, GAMBA OSAKA and Chonburi F.C. signed a partnership agreement to exchange football players and knowledge including to elevate both teams to the forefront of Asian football. Therefore, Panasonic Group in Thailand takes pride in sponsoring Chonburi F.C., which allows the group to support the team towards international recognition.
