4K TV market to enjoy brisk growth in Thailand Panasonic adopts "Premium Marketing" strategy to target hi-end, smart features oriented customers


Panasonic is poised to launch a new lineup of TV products in response to the continued growth of the 4K TV market. “Hollywood to Your Home” concept highlighted to underline the color quality as tuned and used in Hollywood. “Premium Marketing” is adopted as the strategy to focus on midrange-to-hi-end products. A new line up of the 4K TVs and 55 inch screen options is added following the trend that large-screen TVs are capturing the largest market share. Smart features and six new applications for Video on Demand are on the offer in the anticipation to help expand its target group to reach the new generation aged 20 years and above.

Audio and Visual products, especially - the TVs, have always been in the focus of Panasonic in terms of production, marketing, and new innovation to ensure that our products can perfectly satisfy various lifestyle of consumers in each particular period of time. The 4k technology is emphasized to offer the aesthetic aspect in the viewing.


 “This year Panasonic’s TVs will be marketed with the communication concept “Hollywood to Your Home” to emphasize the prominent quality of their images that are tuned by a Hollywood team to meet the industry standard . They come in simple and sleek designs of premium look equipped with some Smart Features to offer consumers even easier and more fun viewing lifestyles. A total of 11 series and 20 models is rolled out, comprising of 8 series and 14 models for the 4K TVs. Among them, five series are for the screen size of 55 inches to serve the demand of the market that is spotting the 55-inches and larger TVs.”

Mr. Takashi Sasaki, Division Head of Consumer Products, Panasonic Siew Sales (Thailand), said the overall market of TVs in Thailand in 2018 sees the demand on the rise of 4K TV market, which records the growth to 55 % and it is expected to reach 70%by 2020. It indicates that modern consumers tend to concentrate more on the quality of images and it’s found that the demand for large-size TVs is going strong. Presently, 55-inch TVs are gaining popularity with continued growth. Following the growth prospect and our study on the behavior of modern consumers who prefer to look for information for product comparison before making a purchase, it’s seen that they look for Smart Features and Video on Demand (VOD). They also put into consideration convenient connectivity and a variety of  contents. These factors prompt Panasonic to adjust our strategy for the product development to better meet the market demand.  

This year, Panasonic will implement  the Premium Marketing strategy to penetrate the TV market in Thailand by focusing on the midrange to hi-end products to meet consumer demand in order to expand our target market to 20-45 year olds. Panasonic expects the consumers to enjoy watching movies without having to go to the theatre by offering the 4K video quality plus enhancing features such as Smart Features and Video on Demand (VOD) application, the six applications comprising of Youtube, Netflix, iflix, mono maxxx, BUGABOO.TV and DOONEE. The products come in the premium and elegant design, combining the concepts of individuality and environment to meet all needs perfectly.

The TV products in the 11-series and 20 models include OLED TVs and 4K TVs. The highlights are the FZ1000 Series, which is an OLED TV in the 65 inch size and the FZ950 Series, serving as another OLED TV option in the 55 inch size, equipped with the Hexa Chroma Drive PRO that gives consumers the true color of nature without any additives and the real-life contrast for  them to enjoy the virtual imagination, capable of handling HDR10 + with Dynamic Tone Mapping technology for brightness, color, and clarity in every scene, along with the Absolute Black Filter to reveal true black color range with smoothness; Ultra-Fine Tuning with Sound Bar to deliver the most powerful sound from the lowest bass; coming in the 360-degree look to be placed anywhere.

The FX800 series for the hi-end TVs or the 4K PRO HDR available in 49 and 55 inch sizes, featuring Panasonic's Art & interior glass, an ultra-slim and beautiful glass frame; and Ultra-Fine Tuning to deliver real-life image results as the originals of the filmmakers. In addition to the perfect Hexa Chroma Drive PRO technology, which is a colour management system to set the colour space in extremely fine brightness steps for accurate colour expression;  and Dynamic Scene Optimiser that adjusts the image to suit each lighting conditions of the room perfectly, in addition to the function to support HDR-compatible TVs or movies.

  Panasonic’s Smart Features have been improved to be even smarter, such as my Home Screen 3.0, which can be used to introduce frequently-used applications to the screen; Internet favorites such as Youtube to easily accessed for getting back to the point of continuous watching; Video on Demand (VOD) with TV Remote App that help the users to easily control their TV via Touch Screen or Voice Control; as well as Bluetooth Audio Link to let connect music from a smart phone and connect to other Bluetooth devices.

   

  And the 55-inch and 49-inch FX700 Series TVs outstandingly feature with slim design, two adjustable legs and 360-degree beautiful which are fit perfectly into any location in the house. 

  During the launch and introduction of the new products, Panasonic has prepared a marketing campaign to return the profit to consumers, including the "4K Hollywood to your home" campaign. Those who purchase the products from now until 31 October, 2018 will receive unlocked for movies from the iflix application for a period of 6 months with the redemption to be made by 15 November, 2018.
